Stedman & Stoke St Milborough
This design shows the method Stedman Triples written out as a circular diagram. It was devised by Fabian Stedman in the 17th century and is one of the earliest and most famous bell ringing methods. You can read more about it here. Fabian Stedman has an unusual connection to St Milburga's church. His family can be traced back to the nearby village of Aston Munslow as early as 1272 and his great uncle Roger Stedman was the Rector of Stoke St Milborough from c.1587 to 1629. |
