An early evening concert by Harmonia Sacra, with refreshments afterwards

Harmonia Sacra was formed by their conductor, Peter Leech, in 2009, principally for the performance of late Renaissance and Baroque choral works, as well as contemporary choral music. The choir is well known in Bristol and the Southwest of England, and much further afield with four landmark CDs released globally on the Nimbus Alliance label. Harmonia Sacra have undertaken two tours to Rome, including performances at the Capitular Mass in St Peter’s Basilica and at Frascati Cathedral, and have featured in a documentary broadcast on BBC Radio 3. Their Christmas CD In dulci jubilo was ranked by BBC Music Magazine amongst the top 10 best carols recordings for 2019.

Songs of Praise and Organ Recital, with the Hereford Cathedral Organ Scholar

Our organ scholar this year is François Cloete, who came to us from Wells Cathedral School, where he learned the organ with Jeremy Cole, one of our previous organ scholars at Hereford. François is from Guernsey, and in September he’s going to Oxford to be the organ scholar at Merton College. He recently gained his FRCO.

Monday 13th June @ 7.30pm
Burghill and Tillington Hand-Bell Ringers concert, with interval refreshments

The Burghill & Tillington Handbell Ringers were formed in 2007, when we started off playing simple tunes by numbered music on borrowed bells and practised in the back of church. After a few years, the group had purchased their own set of bells, and we now have a full chromatic 4 octaves of bells and chimes. Under Jason Walker’s directorship the group has also managed to play more advanced music, with an array of different bell techniques. Tintinnabulis is a “4 in Hand” group formed from members of the group, offering a different style of ringing.
